Why a book about Three Kings is special

A Three Kings story that feels like it was always meant for them

The sixth of January has a particular hush. Camels breathing mist into cold air, incense curling from a wooden box, the clink of gold coins in a small pouch. This is the Epiphany evening your child steps into when they open this book. The story begins at dusk, when a star sharper than all the others hangs low over the roof, and three robed travelers knock politely at the door. For you, the gift-giver, there's something quietly moving about watching a child recognize themselves inside such an old, candle-lit tale. The uploaded photo shapes a face in the illustrations that family will spot instantly. Curious about what else shifts from page to page? Our personalization options show how each detail is woven in.

How your child joins the Three Kings on their journey

Your child stands at the edge of a moonlit courtyard, wrapped in a deep blue cloak, a small wooden staff in one hand and a velvet pouch tied at the waist. The illustrations show a familiar face under the hood, hair and skin tone drawn from the photo you upload, reinterpreted in a warm storybook style. Caspar offers the reins of a kneeling camel. Melchior hands over a tiny map of dunes and villages. Balthasar nods toward the eastern star. The AI builds all of this from what you provide: the name, the photo, the age range, the chosen hobbies. Up to four companions can ride alongside, siblings, best friends, even the family dog padding through the sand. Browse example books to see how different children appear across finished pages.

What this book can open up for your child

Some stories invite a child to slow down. This one makes room for the quiet wonder of following a light through the dark, for the small ritual of giving something chosen with care. The pages offer space to linger on the scent of myrrh, the weight of a gold coin, the soft grunt of a camel settling into sand. It sparks questions about faraway places, about why people travel toward a star, about what it means to arrive with a gift in your hands. Rather than teaching a lesson, the book opens a door: to old traditions, to generosity, to the gentle magic of Epiphany evening at the family table.

Who this book is for

This is a book for parents preparing an Epiphany surprise, for grandparents who still remember polishing shoes on January fifth, for godparents looking for something that honors the feast day with warmth rather than kitsch. It suits children aged roughly three to eight, old enough to follow the camels across the desert, young enough to gasp at the star above the stable. Families who celebrate Driekoningen, Día de Reyes, or Epiphany will find familiar notes in the illustrations, while anyone drawn to gentle, starlit tales will feel right at home turning the pages.

How the Three Kings story lives on after the last page

Once the book closes, small things shift around the house. Shoes placed hopefully by the front door on the evening of the fifth, a paper crown cut from gold cardboard and worn to breakfast, three little gifts hidden behind the curtain, one wrapped in blue, one in red, one in gold. Children chalk the initials C+M+B above a doorway, hum a carol into the hallway mirror, or line up stuffed animals as a caravan crossing the sofa. The kitchen might smell of roscón or king cake, a dried bean tucked somewhere inside. For £6.99 you receive the eBook, ready in about two hours in your account, and a hardcover upgrade is available for £26.99 extra if you'd like to hold the story in your hands. An example story

The star hung so low that evening that it seemed to rest on the chimney pots. Your child pressed their nose to the cold window, breath fogging the glass, and watched three tall shadows move slowly up the lane. A knock, soft but certain. The young traveler slipped on boots, wrapped a wool cloak around small shoulders, and stepped into the courtyard where a camel knelt with patient eyes. Caspar smiled and handed over a lantern no bigger than an apple. "We've been waiting," said Melchior, adjusting a crown that glinted like wet honey. Balthasar unrolled a map stitched from linen, tracing a path across hills and a sleeping village. The child climbed up, holding the lantern carefully, and the caravan moved forward beneath a sky full of watchful stars. Somewhere ahead, a stable waited. And inside the velvet pouch at the little traveler's waist, something small and gold was beginning to hum.

"I couldn’t wait to open them. The books were amazing. I can’t wait to send them to my great granddaughter’s. I did take a picture of one of my favorite pages from both books and sent them to my daughter who is Grandma Sarah in the books. Now she can’t wait for me to send them to her. Grandma Sarah will present them to my great granddaughter’s. I wish I could see them being opened, but my daughter will take a video for me. These books are magical. I think I would like to start with a couple of younger pictures and make a couple more books, so they can see themselves growing. Thank you and I love them so much!"

"I created a book called "Lisa's Five Things" that recreated the magical day my wife Lisa acquired a stuffed pink hippo that she has kept to this day, several decades later. The book brought her to tears...I'm grateful you provided the tools that allowed me to memorialize that wonderful day!"
